Jacks Genega is a freelance video editor working mostly in both Amsterdam and New York City.  She has worked with several esteemed ad agencies and directors on numerous campaigns varying from television commercials and documentary-shorts to music videos and other branded content.  In 2009, she carried her talents and skills to Hank Corwin's (The Big Short, Natural Born Killers) Lost Planet, where she then established her career as a full-time editor.

 

She has worked with notable brands including Google, NCAA, Adidas, Jack Daniel's, American Express, Chase Bank, Comcast, Qatar Airways, Walmart, Kiehl's, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Fidelity, Cadillac, T-Mobile, Gerber, Tommy Hilfiger, Diageo, and many more.

Jacks has enjoyed collaborations with Smuggler director Henry-Alex Rubin on spots for Coca-Cola and American Express, and with Independent Media’s Janusz Kaminski, working on a spot for New York Times Magazine featuring Cate Blanchett. She has also collaborated with Spider-Man Homecoming's director, Jon Watts, on a music video featuring a robot traveling the streets of New York. She has worked alongside Spike Lee on a CLIO-winning documentary-short for Cadillac's "A Promise to Rose." Her award-winning work includes the Cannes Grand Prix-Promo Lion for a campaign with Ogilvy Brazil, and along with several Webby Awards, she was also recognized for her achievement as Visual Effects Designer for Florence and The Machine's "Dog Days Are Over," winning an MTV Video Music Award for Best Art Direction. In 2015, Jacks began doing voice-over work and has since become a member of SAG-AFTRA.  She has developed a reputation as a well-respected talent and an all-around lovely, bad-ass chick who occasionally enjoys to gamble. She works in Avid, Final Cut, Premiere, and After Effects.
